Mars India was established in 2001 - one of the "youngest" businesses in the Mars world and is growing at a rapid pace.
We have two segments operating in India, a Pet care manufacturing and marketing business; and a Chocolate importation and marketing operation. There are over 125 associates dedicated to the India business.
We are pioneering the Pet care category especially in area of pet nutrition. Pet owners in India are new to the concept of prepared, complete and balanced nutrition that is essential for happy healthy pets. We are investing to develop this category through education of vets, breeders and pet owners.

Mars India started manufacturing PEDIGREE^® branded dog food products in October 2002. We set up our manufacturing facility initially on a leased site in Patancheru Mandal, Medak District, Andhra Pradesh.
We commissioned the new “state of the art” manufacturing facility in Wargal, Distt Medak, AP in 2008. The new plant has not only additional manufacturing capacity in the current range but is also equipped to handle new products in different formats resulting in an increase in the range/portfolio of our products. The new plant serves both the Indian and rest of South Asia and supports India’s role as an export hub to the Indian Sub-continent and Middle East.

Pet Care (At Mars we love pets)
Our fundamental goal and belief is that pets and pet ownership bring joy and benefits, which should be accessible and available to all. We enhance the magic of the relationship between pet lovers and their animals by offering high quality, enjoyable and nutritious premium food products. Our WHISKAS^® cat food and PEDIGREE^® dog food brands are known worldwide.
The same global principles are applied in India and are reflected in the range of dog food we have specially created for the Indian market. The wide range of PEDIGREE^® available for dogs in all life stages as well as with special needs is based on the requirements of Indian dogs. This development is based on local research and studies and backed by global knowledge and insight on dog health and care needs.
Underpinning this and the key source of our knowledge is the Waltham Center, the world's leading authority in Pet Care and Nutrition. It represents the science and the knowledge and insight that lies behind Mars pet care brands. Through Waltham, Mars supports research on the benefits of pet ownership within a diverse society.
At the same time, Mars is also a global leader in encouraging and supporting the responsible ownership of pets in a variety of ways around the world and continues to support programs to foster an understanding of the human animal bond.

The brands that make up our business in India in snack food are: MARS^® , SNICKERS^® , GALAXY^® , BOUNTY^® and TWIX^® . At Mars snack food we are dedicated to making people feel good about their chocolate moments.

And we also believe in the importance of consumer choice, which is why we offer a diverse range of products, enabling our consumers to choose the product and portion size that is just right for them and their families.
